# Choosing and managing a domain name

Published 2026-08-06

The original site treated the right name as the first practical step for a website, business email address or online project.

Domain management sat alongside the hosting account so common changes could be made without a separate technical workflow. The service described tools for UK and international names, as well as the basic settings needed to connect a name to a website.

## Domain tools described by the service

- Web forwarding and email forwarding
- Nameserver and contact-information changes
- Mailbox and webmail options
- Domain transfers between hosting accounts
- Nominet WHOIS opt-out where applicable
- A direct upgrade path from a registered name to web hosting

One simple setup:

a domain name, a website and an address such as info@yourdomain.co.uk could all be managed as parts of the same project.

The former registration and transfer controls are no longer connected. This page preserves the supported features without accepting transactions.
